Strengthening the Roots

I’m building something I care deeply about, and if I’m being honest, I’m right in the thick of the “messy middle” with you.

I don’t mean that in some abstract, “someday” kind of way. I mean it in the gritty, showing-up-today, risking-being-seen kind of way.

Lately, I’ve noticed a pattern in myself. When things start to feel a little too vulnerable—when it’s finally time to stop prepping and actually put my heart out into the world—I get real busy trying to grow new branches.

I find new ideas. I dream up new offerings. I chase new possibilities.

They’re all good things—really, good. But they’re more things. And if I’m being truly honest with you, and myself, it’s a whole lot easier to sprout a new leaf than it is to tend to what’s happening below the surface.

Because strengthening roots requires stillness. And stillness? Well, that makes room for the voices…

Those are the voices that whisper:

  • What if no one shows up?
  • What if this doesn’t work?
  • Who do you think you are to believe this matters?

I know I’m not the only one sitting with these types of thoughts. I talk to so many women who are capable, competent, and doing all the things—yet they’re still hesitating to claim space for the work that truly matters to them.

It’s not because they don’t know what to do. It’s because being seen feels risky, scary and uncomfortable.

But here’s the quiet truth I keep returning to: If I’m going to invite you to walk this path with me, I’ve got to be willing to dig in and strengthen my roots, too. I can’t ask you to tend your roots while I’m busy avoiding mine.

That realization is what finally pushed me to name and launch From Seed to Sprout—the first live session in The Bloom.

I’m not launching this as a woman who has it all figured out. I’m launching it as an invitation for us to pause together. To stop trying to force blooms on stems that are tired. To look at the ground we’re actually standing on—not the ground we wish we had—and say, “Okay. This is where we begin.”

This session isn’t about “fixing” your life or a total reinvention. It’s about beginning with intention. It’s about realizing that tending to what matters changes how we move, even before the rest of the world sees a single blossom.

If you’re full of ideas but hesitant to step into the light… If you’re busy building branches while your soul is asking for care… If you’re tired of saying you’re “fine” when you know there’s something deeper calling you…

You aren’t behind. You’re just at the beginning. And friend, you don’t have to walk that garden path alone.
